Dr. John Robinson
Please welcome Dr. John Robinson to our F2K team!
Dr. John Is a graduate of Life Chiropractic College West in the San Francisco Bay area. Dr. John firmly believes that exercise is medicine and has worked in fitness centers throughout his entire career as a chiropractic physician. He proudly joins the team to make your experience with us at Fitness 2000 the most successful it can be.
His focus is not just for you to have a healthy spine like most chiropractors. His approach focuses on wellness and improving your quality of life. It also includes making our community healthier. Did you know that 26% of adults in Forsyth County are obese? In Yadkin County next door, it’s a full 30%!
Newer members benefit most by enlisting support. This includes working closely with your massage therapist and personal trainer to ensure that all parties are on the same page and you are able to work out injury free. Most people in our area work sedentary jobs that leave our muscles and joints imbalanced and deconditioned. Jumping into an exercise routine quickly leads to injury and that’s the number one reason people leave the gym.
More regular members often find that their continued efforts at the gym are not being reflected. You can get stuck in a boring rut that can be very frustrating. Dr. John will focus back on baseline measurements like body fat percentage, calorie intake, and metabolism estimates. It might also take more supplementation for some folks if your diet isn’t right. Sometimes it’s simply switching the order of your cardio and strength training that can make a huge difference.
For even more seasoned members, we have all been guilty of working through a joint injury without seeking a physical medicine professional. As the old adage says, “no pain, no gain.” Dr. John prefers, “no pain, no tissue damage.” Sprain-strains leads to scar tissue buildup and adhesions. Until these inflammatory cells are cleared from the tendons, ligaments and joints, exercise will continue to provoke the unresolved issues, leaving you with lingering joint dysfunction, reduced mobility and you can forget about strength gains!
Finally, older members can benefit greatly from having targeted support. In particular, as we age we begin to lose balance and coordination. This leads to falls that could have been prevented through core muscle strengthening, balance training and full body strength training, especially leg strength.
